Hi everyone!
I am a newbie here and I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Rendi and I am a pee wee cheer coach. I started coaching last year with 7 girls now the squad has grown to 25. the ages are from 4 years to 10.

I am very excited about this squad. I would love any input on how to train them properly in tumbling and stunting, we stunted last year, but not much and we only did basic tumbling.

I hope everyone has a wonderful year.

take care,
Rendi Laughing

Hey! I know exactly how you feel. I've been a pee wee football cheer coach for seven years now and that's always the hardest thing to deal with. I usually don't worry about tumbling (even though I'm a college cheerleader and I know how important it is). I encourage parents to put them in tumbling classes but I don't want anyone hurt because I'm not trained in that stuff. I usually give my squad a little speech before starting stunts though. I tell them that not everyone can fly and not everyone can base. I also have to explain how important spotters are cause nobody seems to want to spot. Then I just work with one group at a time, see what each girl can do and keep switching things til it works.

Thank you Jody for your honesty. Last year we did basic stunts, this year we are having a couple of college cheerleaders do our cheer camp. I will pass that on to my parents, I put my 2 girls in tumbling just for that reason, I dont want to hurt anyone.

again thank you!
